Archival Research Methods

The OER contains information and practical guidelines to archival research methods. Specifically it provides 2 session plans designed for Bachelor students. First, these session plans introduce students to different forms of archives and second provide them with practical advice on how to analyse different types of archival materials. This advice is supported by voices from researchers working with archives, who illustrate their experiences to the students. These 2 session plans are accompanied by supporting documents that teachers and students are encouraged to draw upon. These include: Ethical guidelines, a spreadsheet for analysing archival documents, as well as forms of consent that students might come across during archival visits. As such this bundle introduces students to archives and guides them through their first visit to the archive.
